2020 Fantasy Football Best Ball Rankings: Hall of Fame expert says draft Courtland Sutton, fade Mark Ingram

The 2020 Fantasy football rankings have undergone major shakeups after a free agency frenzy that saw a number of dynamic running backs find new homes. Todd Gurley, who’s recorded 12 or more rushing touchdowns in his last three seasons, is set to join an explosive Falcons offense that averaged 379.7 yards per game last season. Should Gurley be among the top running backs in your 2020 Fantasy football best ball rankings, or will he struggle to find consistency in a new scheme?

Meanwhile, Melvin Gordon, who’s recorded 35 total touchdowns over the last three seasons, signed a two-year, $16 million contract with the Broncos. How will Gordon’s presence affect Phillip Lindsay’s Fantasy value moving forward? Those are the types of questions owners will have to answer before deciding which players to target and which players to avoid during their 2020 Fantasy football draft prep. Before you make any decisions about your 2020 Fantasy football best ball picks, see what SportsLine’s Scott Engel has to say. His 2020 Fantasy football best ball rankings can help make sure you get maximum value out of every pick.

Engel is an inaugural member of the Fantasy Sports Writers Association’s Hall of Fame and has been a premier analyst and Fantasy personality for nearly 25 years. He is a four-time FSWA Award Winner and nine-time nominee.

In addition to being the Fantasy writer for the official site of the Seattle Seahawks since 2012, Engel has appeared on ESPN.com, NFL.com, Yahoo Sports, the New York Post, USA Today, SI.com, Rotoballer and Sirius XM Fantasy Sports Radio and many other major sports news outlets. Engel also pulled off a three-peat in his highly-competitive New York City Fantasy football league in 2019 that features high-stakes players and top experts.

Now, Engel has released his 2020 Fantasy football best ball rankings and revealed his top sleepers, breakouts and busts so you’ll have an edge.

Top 2020 Fantasy football best ball picks

Engel is extremely high on Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton. He exploded onto the scene in his second year as a member of the Broncos. In fact, Sutton finished last season with 72 receptions for 1,112 yards and six touchdowns.

Sutton appeared to build a strong rapport with quarterback Drew Lock late last season, and he’ll look to become a Fantasy football stalwart now that he’s the clear-cut No. 1 receiver in Denver. Plus, Sutton is expected to get help on the outside after the Broncos added depth and explosiveness at the position during the first two rounds of the NFL Draft, selecting Jerry Jeudy of Alabama and KJ Hamler of Penn State.

“Sutton had six games of 18-plus points last year and he’ll continue to rise in 2020.” Engel told SportsLine. Engel lists Sutton as a top-15 wide receiver in his 2020 Fantasy football best ball rankings, ahead of household names like Odell Beckham Jr., Cooper Kupp and Stefon Diggs

And a massive shocker: Ravens running back Mark Ingram, who has recorded over 1,000 rushing yards and at least 10 rushing touchdowns in two of his last three seasons, stumbles big-time and barely cracks the top 30 at his position.

Ingram was an intricate part of Baltimore’s explosive rushing offense in 2019, helping the Ravens finish with the top-ranked rushing offense in the league. The former Heisman Trophy winner averaged 5.0 yards per carry, finishing with 1,018 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. Ingram also hauled in 26 receptions for 247 yards and five additional scores.

However, Ingram is now 30 years old and could see his Fantasy value diminish after Baltimore drafted rookie running back J.K. Dobbins in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Dobbins ran for over 2,000 yards in his final season at Ohio State and is expected to chip into Ingram’s workload. “Baltimore drafting rookie J.K. Dobbins damages Ingram’s Fantasy value in all formats,” Engel told SportsLine.
