Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli robbed at knifepoint in his North London home

Burglars that broke into the North London home of Dele Alli Wednesday held the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder at knifepoint. Local police told Sky Sports that two of the home’s residents were assaulted in the burglary. Reports also indicate that one of the men was Alli, according to Sky Sports. Residing in the home were Alli, his brother, their girlfriends and another friend.

The English player tweeted later in the day to thank fans and friends for the messages of support during what he called a “horrible experience.”

“Two males gained entry to the property and stole items of jewelry, including watches, before fleeing,” the police said in a statement to Sky Sports. “Two male occupants at the property suffered minor facial injuries after being assaulted. They did not require hospital treatment.”

As it turns out, those are really the only details of the incident that police were able to confirm. No arrests have been made and inquiries into the situation are still ongoing.

This is the second Tottenham player to have his home burgled over the last couple of months. Armed men broke into the North London home of Spurs defenseman Jan Vertonghen. However, the player was away in Germany with the squad as Tottenham prepared to play RB Leipzig in the Champions League in March.
